Jira

Manage and create Jira tickets directly in Thena.

Overview

Connect Jira tickets to Thena, linking customer, product, and engineering workflows. Create and associate Jira tickets within Thena requests, allowing all Thena requests to track Jira ticket status and enhance your ticketing experience.

Setup

To enable Jira integration, head to Integrations and Connect with your Jira app. The setup process will take you through the OAuth authentication process, where you must allow the Thena Jira App to access your Thena workspace.

📘

User access token

The Jira integration uses the token of the user who authenticated it. New Jira tickets will default to this user. If re-authenticated by a different user, subsequent tickets will reflect the new user. We recommend using a service account (e.g., [email protected]) for easier identification.

Linking Jira tickets to Thena requests

Easily link Jira to Thena by searching for existing tickets or creating new ones directly within Thena.

Link existing Jira tickets

🔗

Paste the Jira ticket link in the Slack internal triage thread

Copy and paste the full Jira ticket URL into the Internal Triage Thread. The link is automatically attached to the request and will appear in the Request Drawer.

🔗

Paste the Jira ticket link in the internal thread of the request drawer

Open the Request Drawer for the relevant request, go to the 'Internal Thread' tab, and paste the link. Although this method works, using the web app for linking is faster and more efficient.

🔍

Search for an existing Jira ticket from the request drawer

You can search and attach Jira tickets in the Request drawer under the External links section.
