Broadcasts
Overview
Thena's Broadcast (earlier, Marketing Automation) is designed to streamline communication and engagement with your audience by allowing you to create, schedule, and send broadcasts directly within Slack. Whether you need to send product updates, invitations, or important announcements, Broadcast provides an easy-to-use interface for managing all your communications in one place. Head to Broadcasts on the Thena web app to get started!
Create a broadcast
- Create Broadcast: Click on the "Create broadcast" button.
- Pick a template: Choose from a variety of templates or start with a blank slate. Templates include options for product updates, new releases, outage notifications, and more.
- Customize your message: Fill in the details of your broadcast. Thena supports Header, Bullet list, Ordered list, Code block, Block quote, Divider, Button, Image, and Video.
- Preview: Use "Preview in Slack" to see how your broadcast will appear before sending. Thena supports previews in all channels except private ones. For testing, create a random public channel to view your broadcast message.
Schedule and send
- Select audience: Choose the accounts or channels you want to send the broadcast to. You can filter and select specific audiences based on your needs.
- Schedule or send: Decide whether to send the broadcast immediately or schedule it for a later date and time.
- Confirm: Click "Confirm" to send or schedule your broadcast once everything is set.
- Cancel: You can cancel a sent campaign within 30 seconds. Scheduled campaigns can be canceled anytime before they are sent.
- Unsend: You can unsend a campaign at any time after it has been sent.
Audience management
Create and manage different audience lists from Broadcast > Audience.
- Audience filtering: Use filters to select specific accounts or channels for your broadcasts, ensuring the right message reaches the right audience.
- Dynamic audience lists: These audiences automatically update based on predefined filters. Channels will join and leave the list as their properties change. These cater to your evolving marketing needs without manual adjustments.
- Static audiences: These are manually curated lists that remain constant unless manually updated. This is useful for targeting a specific set of users or channels that don't change frequently.
